Hank
Hank is a 3-year-old bearded dragon with a story of resilience, trust, and transformation.
When Hank entered Peculiar Pets Sanctuary on February 4, 2025, he came from deplorable living conditions and was understandably unsure about people. He would shy away from anyone who approached and preferred to keep his distance. After all he had been through, trusting humans wasn't easy.
But with patience, kindness, and plenty of love from his foster family, Hank slowly began to realize that people weren't so scary after all. Today, he has blossomed into an affectionate, social dragon who absolutely loves spending time with his humans!
Hank is an amazing eater and never turns down a tasty meal, especially if it includes one of his favorite treats—a fresh dandelion flower. When the weather is nice, you'll often find him exploring the great outdoors or going for walks... of course, only when Hank decides it's adventure time! And after a busy day of exploring, he's more than happy to curl up for a good snuggle.
Watching Hank grow from a timid, standoffish dragon into a loving companion has been incredible. He truly has become everyone's best friend, and we couldn't be prouder of how far he's come.

Ridley
Ridley is a handsome 6-year-old bearded dragon who recently joined Peculiar Pets Sanctuary when his original owner began experiencing medical issues that made it difficult to continue providing the care he deserved.
While saying goodbye was not easy, it's clear that Ridley has been incredibly loved and well cared for throughout his entire life. His wonderful personality is a true reflection of the care and affection he has always known.
Since arriving in foster care, Ridley has quickly shown us what a laid-back little sweetheart he is. He's perfectly content spending the day lounging in his enclosure, soaking up the warmth and enjoying the simple things in life. But don't let his relaxed nature fool you—Ridley also loves spending time outdoors, exploring the world around him, and cuddling up with his favorite humans.
And that's not all...
Ridley has a surprising hobby that sets him apart from many other bearded dragons—he LOVES to swim! Whether he's relaxing in the water or paddling around with confidence, this little guy is always ready to make a splash.
With his gentle personality, love of snuggles, and unique adventurous side, Ridley has already stolen the hearts of everyone he meets. We can't wait to share more of his journey with all of you!

Richie
Richie is an approximately 2-year-old leopard gecko with a big personality packed into a little body!
Richie came to Peculiar Pets Sanctuary after his loving family found themselves unable to continue caring for him. While it was a difficult decision, it was clear from the start that Richie had been loved and his previous family wanted the very best for him.
When Richie arrived, he was a bit underweight and struggling with an eye issue that made life a little more challenging. With plenty of patience, dedicated care, syringe feedings, and eye drops, Richie slowly began to turn the corner—and what a transformation it has been!
Today, Richie is thriving! He eats like an absolute champion and has become an incredible hunter, eagerly stalking and chasing down his insect meals. When he's not showing off his hunting skills, you'll find him exploring every inch of his enclosure, always curious about what might be around the next corner.
While Richie is still learning that being handled isn't so scary, his confidence continues to grow every day. Watching him become healthier, stronger, and more adventurous has been an absolute joy.
We're so proud of how far this little guy has come and can't wait to share more of his journey with all of you!
Zeus
Sometimes heroes come in very small packages, and Zeus is proof of that.
Zeus's journey to Peculiar Pets Sanctuary began when a kind-hearted woman received him from a friend. It didn't take long for her to realize that she was not equipped to provide the specialized care that a leopard gecko requires. Wanting the very best for Zeus, she reached out to our rescue, and we were happy to welcome him into our care.
When Zeus arrived, it was clear that he needed some extra help. He required syringe feeding to maintain his weight and was showing the early signs of mouth rot. His days quickly became filled with medications, feedings, and plenty of patience as we worked to get this little guy feeling better.
And slowly but surely, Zeus began to heal.
With time, dedication, and a lot of determination, Zeus made an incredible recovery. Once he was feeling better, we faced a new challenge—teaching him that bugs were food! After plenty of experimenting, Zeus finally revealed his preference...
He likes his buggies served in a bowl like the distinguished gentleman he is.
Today, Zeus is thriving. Most days you'll find him tucked away in his favorite humid hide, enjoying a cozy nap. But when he decides it's time for adventure, he emerges to explore his enclosure, investigate every corner, and show off his curious personality.
Watching Zeus transform from a gecko that needed syringe feedings and medications into a healthy, bug-eating explorer has been incredibly rewarding. We are so proud of this little fighter and can't wait to share more of his adventures with all of you!
Freya
Say hello to one of the sweetest snakes you'll ever have the pleasure of meeting... Freya, our approximately 6-year-old Ball Python!
Freya came to Peculiar Pets Sanctuary in April of 2025 a little underweight, but with time, proper husbandry, and plenty of frozen/thawed meals, she has slowly blossomed into the beautiful, healthy girl she is today. Watching her gain weight and confidence over the past year has been an absolute joy!
During the day, you'll usually find Freya cozied up beneath her basking area, dreaming about her forever family. Sometimes she'll stretch out on her favorite rock, soaking up her UVB and enjoying a peaceful afternoon. But once the sun goes down... that's when the adventures begin!
Freya loves exploring her enclosure and climbing all over her indoor jungle gym. She's curious, active, and always ready to investigate something new.
One thing you'll never have to worry about? Dinner!
Freya is an absolute champion when it comes to feeding time. She takes her frozen/thawed prey like a pro every single time and never misses a meal.
Perhaps the best thing about Freya is her personality. She is incredibly easy to handle, gentle, and genuinely seems to enjoy spending time with people. Over the past year, she's joined us at many educational events, and the word we hear over and over again from visitors is..."She's so sweet!" We couldn't agree more.

Precious
Don't let his name fool you—this little adventurer has a BIG personality!
Precious came to Peculiar Pets Sanctuary on September 1, 2025, after his loving family made the difficult decision to surrender him due to financial hardships. Originally purchased from a chain pet store in January 2021 alongside his brother, Bilbo, Precious arrived needing extensive medical care and rehabilitation.
Over the following months, this resilient little dragon worked hard to regain his health. While he may be a bit smaller than expected for his age, what he lacks in size he more than makes up for in spirit! Precious is incredibly active, endlessly curious, and never shy about letting everyone know when it's time to come out and explore. Whether he's investigating every corner of a room or demanding his next adventure, he keeps his foster family smiling every day.
Today, Precious has a clean bill of health and is ready to find the forever family he deserves. Could that be you?
Smol Fry
Don't let the name fool you—this little dragon has a personality that is anything but small!
Smol Fry joined Peculiar Pets Sanctuary on January 28, 2026, after his loving family made the difficult decision to surrender him when they could no longer provide the care he needed. Early in life, Smol Fry battled a coccidia infection that unfortunately stunted his growth. Now approximately 2 years old, he's about the size of a typical 9-month-old bearded dragon.
But if you ask Smol Fry, being small just means there's more room for adventure!
This tiny dragon is packed full of energy, curiosity, and just the right amount of sass. Whether he's investigating every inch of his enclosure, demanding attention, or plotting his next great expedition, Smol Fry approaches life with confidence and enthusiasm. He never lets his size slow him down and is always ready to show the world that big things
come in small packages.
