Local Reptile Resources
There are multiple exotic pet shops local to our area that have wonderful husbandry tips, and can help you get the right supplies, food, and setup for your pets. Many of of them can also help provide knowledgeable advice on care! Avalon Exotics, Exotic Pet Birds and Reptiles, and Luv-A-Lotl are a few examples. We recommend looking into what may be closest to you!
Emergency Veterinarians
Currently, there are no true 24 hour Emergency Veterinary practices in New York that accept reptiles. The closest 24 hour practice is MedVet Hilliard in Hilliard, OH. However, some local practices that accept exotics may take reptiles for urgent needs during their urgent care or regular business hours. It is best to develop a client relationship with a local exotic vet as early as possible after getting your new pet.
